Mariani, Paul.  The Whole Harmonium: The Life of Wallace Stevens (Simon and Schuster, 2016).  [A very readable biography of Stevens.]

Serio, John N. “Hartford, CT,” chapter (pp. 27-36) in Wallace Stevens in Context, ed. Glen MacLeod (Cambridge UP, 2017) [A concise summary of Stevens’s life and career in Hartford.]

Sukenick, Ronald.  Wallace Stevens: Musing the Obscure: Readings, an interpretation, and a guide to the collected poetry (New York University Press, 1967).  Available online under “Links and Tools” on the website of the Wallace Stevens Society.  [A classic that remains useful.  Sukenick attempts to clarify the meaning of individual poems. Use the Guide at the back of the book to look up the poem you are interested in.]
